Rhoda designed the final prototype EEG headset for Project Amber, making the cap and sensors separable for ease of use and washing. She is a co-inventor on its patent.
Rhoda was a member of X’s Design Kitchen and worked extensively on the Smarty Pants project featured in the video. Much of her work is protected by NDA and can’t be included in a public portfolio. It includes (but is not limited to) integrating motors, gear trains, sensors, wiring, and 3D printed parts into custom garments and other wearables of her design.
The heated motorcycle vest pictured below was a personal project and one of her first forays into the world of tech wearables. To achieve it, she integrated 30 feet of teflon-coated 30 gauge copper wire and a plug into a custom designed wool vest with stretch panels at the sides for a snug, comfortable fit. From there, the plug connects to a wiring harness attached to a motorcycle battery.
